conglomerate - multiple small companies which are under the umbrella of a larger company

horizontal integration - a company increasing the production of goods or services at the same part of the supply chain.

vertical integration - the company owns or controls its suppliers, or retail locations to control its value or supply chain.

VOD - video on demand. access to videos without having to stream the original.

synergy - companies working together to form a mutual benefit.

one advantage of vertical integration is the way that the company gets all of the profit from the products they may produce,, for example Disney has their own creative control and own all of the things they make so the profit doesn't have to go anywhere else.

Disney uses vod to vertically integrate by being able to choose from their range of studios.

synergy - profit that occurs from horizontal integration.
